Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in combination with Saudi Arabian ACWA Power and Chinese Harbin Electric consortium begun construction work in November 2016 of a Clean Coal Independent Power Plant, which will contain 4 * 600MW units power plant.  Gulf Cobla was engaged by China Harbour Engineering Company to dredge two wide trenches for the marine pipeline installation work undertaken by them.  Gulf Cobla dredged an intake trench of 4.5 kms in length and an outfall trench of 2.5 kms, together with a harbour basin and approach channel required under the development.  China Harbour was simultaneously installing the HDPE pipelines, construct the breakwaters and the coal berths for the consortium.
